Welcome to African Americans with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). Habari gani and Bawoni in the languages of Swahili and Yoruba.
My name is Deborah A.H. Johnson, M.A. L.L.P. C.A.A.D.C. I am an author, blogger, speaker and therapist. I have worked with individuals and their families with mental health and addiction issues for twenty years. My research interest is African Americans with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I am a doctoral student at Walden University in the Health psychology program. My research papers have included African Americans with a co-occurring disorder, Stress Managements for African Americans in the Workplace.
I have a strong interest in developing programs that use the cultural strengths of African Americans to address the issue of mental illness and addiction. I hope this website will provide others with the information they need to develop positive coping skills and to seek the information needed regarding ADHD.
